Abstract
The rise of convergence, concentration and conglomeration in Indonesia has been challenged new perspective to see this phenomenon. The theoretical in political economy in media management research has been dominated by neo Marxian perspective. In this perspective, media workers in media management have no bargaining power to the media management. In the contrast, structuration theory which introduced by Anthony Giddens suggest the social structure in media management not just constraining but enabling media workers.

Perkembangan cepat teknologi komunikasi dan informasi (information and communication technology) telah membawa angin segar bagi semakin beragamnya informasi yang meletup ke ruang publik (public sphere). Meningkatnya kuantitas pesan yang diperoleh khalayak melalui pelbagai saluran media ini kemudian membawa optimisme bahwa peningkatan kuantitas tersebut juga diikuti dengan peningkatan kualitas isi media.
